Observations

Many folks of all experience levels out enjoying the Austin's/Artist Point backcountry today. Coverage was great for this time of year and the snow continued to fall throughout the day. Due to time constraints we skied a couple great laps of 5 Minute and 10 Minute trees. These gullies had evidence of wind loading, but there were no signs of avalanches elsewhere in the valley. On our second run, a ski cut across the left side of 5Min released a sizeable wind slab, confirming my suspicions.

Comments:
Ridgetop and sideloading evident of WSW winds created easy-to-trigger pockets of new storm snow
