Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Skinned up the cat track and rode the front face of Hyak. Snowpack is really sticky on top and seems pretty upside down. Roughly two feet deep in most areas throughout. Really heavy on top that barely supports our weight on snowboards without a lot of forward momentum. Light underneath the top 4-6in, can punch through all the way to the surface with an open hand with no effort at all. Uphill was less effort than down on this shag carpet.
