Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

-Toured out to Tronsen Stash (Glades on N Aspect of Tronsen Head)
-Sky : Overcast/Broken (Sun popped out a few times)
-Air temp cold, very lightly snowing, light winds with moderate gust
-Made it to 5,200' before turning back.
-Slope began steepening and some evidence of wind transport present
-Textured snow surface and ski pen became variable.
-Did not witness any shooting cracks. Hand shears did not seem to indicate presence of wind slab.
-Did not see evidence of any avalanches
-Snowpack somewhat shallow, lots of downed trees etc to watch out for

-Hand Pits Along Way (Photo attached)
-Top ~15cm of snow was very low density (Fist)
-Below that ~2cm of pencil hard crust
-Below that ~5cm some unconsolidated? snow
-Below that ~2cm of pencil hard crust
-More consolidated snow below that
-Dug a few of these with ski pole along way, did not seem to change much with elevation

-Low density snow on top of crust made for quite enjoyable skiing. Never broke through crust
