Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

A number of convex features released shallow, 3-4” deep storm slabs when skiing down from Dave’s Knob to Snow Lake. Most of what we saw was in the D0.5 range but some larger patches propagated surprisingly far on convex rollers and the new snow was heavy enough that these small slides could definitely push you off your feet and into an unpleasant situation in the right (wrong?) terrain.

Media

This storm slab broke roughly 4” deep and 30’ across on a small roller around 4200’
Debris from several small pockets that funneled through a narrow chute neighboring a convex roller around 4500’.
