Soft Slab

Comments:
Found a good test slope on Wright Mountain, was able to get it to break easily. 4-5" of heavy, wet new snow broke and propagated 40' or so sliding on the crust that developed in the past few days. Hand pits on N facing slopes showed this new slope bonding to the older snow well - no crust was present.

Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
No

Observations

New snow sliding easily on slopes that saw sun earlier this week.
