Observations

Cold to start the day. Under the tree canopy, tree pee had made the surface icy. In shaded open areas there was soft faceted snow, did not note any large surface hoar growth, but I wasn’t looking closely and a light dusting of snow earlier that morning could have obscured it.

Above around 5000 feet moderate southeast facing slopes had a breakable suncrust. East facing open slopes held well preserved cold snow.

At ridge top winds were beginning to transport what little amounts of new snow were available.

Good skiing to around 5000 ft poor below. All snow was sticky below 5000 ft.
