Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Skied a couple laps in the Alpental Valley between 3500 and 3800 ft. In open areas there was 1-2 inches of wet snow on top of a breakable sun crust, with a layer of soft dry snow beneath that before another crust. Snow seemed well bonded between layers. Around 1 PM the sun started to come out and we saw a lot of roller balls from snow falling off trees, but did not propagate.
