Observations

Sky clear, wind light and variable, temp. <32, elevation 6200, east aspect. A quick pit revealed a sun crust 15cm, MLK a crust was ~30 cm. Shovel shear resistant above MLK crust. Column 15cm sun crust 13, 22 on MLK crust, 29 buried surface hoar. I was able to generate small slab release on steep roll overs 15cm sun crust, I would guess the wind event that loaded the slopes I looked at was a westerly. Snow surface was quite variable, from durable wind board, to wind compressed powder. Ski penetration ~ 20 cm, boot penetration ~30cm.
