D1 slab avalanche on East aspect above tree line. Crown depth 2-3’ with 50’ runout.

Observations

Deep powder conditions on bluebird day. Did not notice layers but multiple layers were obvious in the crown and debris field. Those varied from about 2” of loose pow at surface, 6-8” of cohesive snow below, and then another layer beginning at 14” down.
