Isolated small wind slabs just below ridge line cornices below tree line were able to trigger with a few stomps

Observations

Isolated, small am wind slabs became larger (12” deep) by afternoon with new snow and strong ridgeline winds. Blowing snow was visually obvious. Below ridge line in the trees no instability and winds dropped quickly. Skied iut low angle ridge due to touchy, larger wind slabs on normal West aspect exits.

Advanced Observations

Observed Avalanche Problem #1: 
Wind Slab
Comments: 
Below tree line around 5600 ft, NE aspects. Small soft wind slabs 4-6” in the morning took some stomping to kick loose. By 2 pm they were 12” deep and triggered easily on test slopes. Isolated to small pockets below tree line right under cornices. Afternoon they could also be found on the West aspects.
