Observations

We observed lots of recently wind affected snow with variable depths and drifts across the zone above 5500'. Skies were clear, temps cold (15 F) and winds were light from the north.
Wind slabs seemed present above 6000' with localized cracking around skis, but no shooting cracks.
A snow profile obtained during this weekend's motorized AIARE 1 confirmed general assessments of the local snowpack. Notably, the Jan 6 SH layer was found and proved reactive in snowpack tests (ECTP23 down 64 cm on the Jan 6 SH layer).
