Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Despite no appreciable new snow in 3.5 days I was able to trigger a significant avalanche by cutting a relatively small cornice feature. This particular face tends to slab up when similar exposures/elevations are stable so not a complete surprise, but certainly was expecting more stable conditions.

Very near by, slightly lower angle, NW facing terrain was stable with ECTX results in two separate pits.
