I saw this avalanche on the 16th, it was probably 2 days old then. It started at the base of a cliff band 40+ degrees, the failure occurred on the buried surface hoar 30-40 cm down. About 60 feet wide at the start spreading to 150 feet wide where it came to rest, ran as a slab except where it passed through a constriction, it broke into card table size blocks. The rain crust prevalent in the area probably makes this layer much more isolated, but it is still intact.
