Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Traveled in the Heather Meadows area up to ~4700 ft. Lots of evidence of the 1/12-1/14 rain event, including runnels, and debris and crowns from D1-D3 wet slabs and glide avalanches throughout the Bagley Lakes Basin, Table Mountain, the SE slopes of Herman, as well as a dramatic glide off the NE aspect of Huntoon Point. Numerous glide cracks were present, including one above a common travel route up to Artist Point (photo below).

Surface conditions: breakable rain crust with a small amount of wet snow on the surface - mostly unsupportable to snowshoes, but seemed a bit more supportable under skis based on the skiers and ski tracks we observed.

Media

Glide crack above common road route to Artist Point.
Glide cracks, crowns and debris in Bagley Lakes basin below Blueberry chutes and the E summit of Table Mountain.
