Comments:
A steep road embankment slid when a snowmobiler was riding in the ditch between the road and the embankment. No one was caught, buried, or injured. The slide was very small (25ft wide x 15ft long) due to the size of the slope, but involved the full depth of the snowpack. It ran on facets at ground level.
Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes, Widespread
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
No
Embankments showed widespread shooting cracks caused by snowmobiles on the road. The one spot that slid was significantly steeper than the areas that cracked and did not slide.
