Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Observed dense snow, heavy consistency from 3800 to 4500. Started out snow mid morning but transitioned to rain by early afternoon. Above 5000 to 5800 was more upside down snow. Mostly a wetter snow falling at this level. Biggest hazards were tree bombs and falling trees. Came across tree that fell today and one tree was likely new since yesterday across the skin track. See photos. Visibility too poor to comment about any observed avalanches on surrounding peaks. Overall, goretex was the appropriate attire.

Media
