Was it intentional?
No
Avalanche Type:
Soft Slab
Size:
Size 1: Relatively harmless to people

Triggered a very small wind slab on convex rollover. On the way up, we had noted localized shallow wind slabs at the same aspect from the wind cross loading the slope.

Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Otherwise, no signs of instability. Hasty pit near the ridge top showed 1-2 ft of heavy powder sitting on a rain soaked base and bonding somewhat to it. No wind slab there despite cornices forming and strong gusty wind in the afternoon.
