Level 1 avalanche class; 3 groups (1:6)
Mitchell Creek instructional zone, with some groups returning via Mitchell Trees and some groups returning via ski area
Limited visibility, calm to light variable winds, temps just below freezing, brief shot of intense snowfall ended by around 0900.
Variable new snow depths, from 30-50 cm across the terrain we traveled.
No real signs of instability, especially for any wind-related avalanche problem.
A couple groups noted minor cracking, as well as some slab formation (via informal travel "tests") within the new snow, in the steepest terrain. These storm slabs were 15-20 cm deep.
Top-notch downhill travel, with a bouncy supportable base, and fairly low density snow topping it off. Sorry, no photos.
