Observed the crown from a recent small (~d1) wind slab on the NE aspect of sourdough gap ascending from the basin to the north. We saw heavy wind loading on this slope and other signs of instability.

Observations

Ascending towards sourdough gap from the north we saw heavy wind loading, a recent crown, and as we approached the last bench before the slope to the gap collapsed a layer in wind loaded snow. We avoided the gap and skied the zone to the north and crystal lakes and observed generally very stable snow in these zones.
