Travelled up the Henry Creek approach for Jim Hill. In the clear cuts there was evidence of recent rain on the new snow with water runnells and a slight crust on the surface. This crust faded around 4000'. Above that the snow surface was dry but heavy.
Found the Christmas rain crust down 51cm. We had some clearing skies after some heavy snowfall first thing in the morning. Appeared to be a strong west wind up high at ridge line level that was transporting snow.
For those looking to explore this area, the alder are still standing and create a bit of a challenge moving from the creek up to tree line.
