Observations

Observed aftermath of White River Canyon (SE aspect) avalanche from opposite (east) ridge. We were a group attending level 1 avalanche course out of Meadows taking lunch above/before skiing and boarding the Quarter Wall area.
Our trip plan involved avoiding all avalanche terrain out of respect for the day’s avalanche problem #1 – potential failure of existing wind slab snowpack.
