Observations

Winds appeared stronger the forecasted, creating bad visibility driving on I90 in the morning. Huge plumes of blowing snow visible on all ridges. Anywhere moderately in the open was bitterly cold. Generally calm on the west aspect of Silver, but as we reached the ridgeline, strong 30mph winds were blasting through the forest, creating stiff wind slabs even in the trees. Nothing would propagate super wildly, but lots of small little slabs triggering beneath our feet. A few hundred feet downslope the snow was much better. By the end of the day, the snow was covered in pine needles and small branches. Seems like very few areas would survive this wind storm.
