Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Went up Commonwealth Basin on the east side to poke around. Saw Andy on the skin track and said hi. The day started out nice and calm in the valley with a hint of sun. But the storm ensued around midday with whipping winds near tree line. We decided to ski down then and experienced good skiing in open areas that were not wind affected. It was variable. We saw wind affected snow, and there was some soft slab and cracking but all very isolated.
