Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

We did not observe any avalanche activity on Roaring Ridge today. Skiing was good in open terrain or between spaced trees, but crusty and bad in the old growth. We did not identify the persistent weak layer, though we tried, and did not get any results on an extended column test. Weather started out sunny and progressively became cloudy with flurries around 3pm.
