Comments:
Crown was approximately 16" . I was up on 12th and am guessing the slide occured on the 10th or 11th as there was 6 to 7 inches of fresh snow over the bed and debris pile. Slope angle was approximately 35 degrees, crown width of approximately 40feet. Running length was about 4 to 500 feet and it ran into the trees before stopping. No pictures.
None reported
I did a couple ski cuts at the top adjacent south of the slide area. Skied along the trees. I have skied here for8 to10 years and have only seen1 shooting crack. Sounds like a mental trap, but I feel I did enough to protect myself. I found no evidence of instabilities on the12th. Also, 36" of unconsolidated above 4200' with a breakable trappy crust 6" down below4200'. There was significant amount of rollers scattered about on the slope. Guessing there was some sun effect on Saturday after noon, probably the cause for the slide, but just a guess.
