Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Dug profiles at 2 locations today:
N facing 6550: found existence of 12/8 surface hoar layer, down around 35cm, snow easily failed on this layer
SE facing 5400 ft: fracture at same depth, around 35cm down, but not as large grains of snow at the fracture at this elevation.
Consistent with what others have been seeing in the zone. No avalanche activity noted today
Cloudy below 5600 feet- bluebird up high.
