Observations

After climbing the usual route up Newton ridge we transitioned and decided to stick to the trees where we knew the terrain was safer. After taking a few turns in the tight trees we were lured out into the more open terrain. After coming over convex roll over the whole slope propagated and released with the weight of a single skier. Pretty much the whole start zone moved and ran down into the gully below. The skier was able to use a tree to stop himself and let all the snow flush through while partially burying him.
