Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

We did several laps on the generally NE facing 30-35 deg slopes below the cliffs between about 3700 and 4500 ft. Hand pits showed slightly varying F layers in the upper 1.5 to 2 ft of snow gradually changing to 4F below with no discontinuities. We did not see any avalanches or signs of instability. Weather was generally calm or light winds and foggy with a couple minor cloud breaks.
