Observations

We hiked/skinned in via the south side of Melakwa pass. We noticed small wet loose avalanches on the way in. We did not dig a pit (it was really late in the season and we had not really considered the potential for an avalanche). We had not considered a the potential for a substantial change in snowpack once we dropped over to the north side of Melakwa pass.
