Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Winds on Saturday appeared to have a widespread, if somewhat patchwork, effect on the upper snowpack from 4600’ and above. A crust sitting on the top of the snow varied from non-existent in many areas, to 3-5” thick in others, though it broke apart quite easily while skiing. We found this on SE, S, and NE aspects, and above 5400’ wind effect was notably more consistent.
