Observations

Dug a quick pit, E aspect, 6800 light wind 270, clear skies, 14 degF. 80 cm HS, 40cm new, column test failed plainer on old new interface (14) did not displace, buried surface hoar. New snow appeared right side up. Shovel shear showed non planer weakness in new snow, and a planer shear on new old contact. Transformed contact at ground, probably here for the duration.
