Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
No
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Isolated

Observations

This observation is from 11/28. Storm snow from the 27th is low density and unconsolidated. This snow sits atop a pair of crusts in the middle snow pack. I felt/ heard some small 'crunchy' collapses in the snowpack from that pair of crusts. They're separated by about 4 to 6 inches. No other signs of instability were observed. Small dry loose sluffs were observed. Some wind affected snow at ridge lines. Snow depth ranges from 3 to 5 feet (70cm to 150cm).

Media
