My wife and I rode snowmobiles from approximately 10am to 3 pm today in the Stampede Pass area and towards the Tacoma Pass area. We saw snow depths range from 6" up to 18"+ at higher elevations. Lower elevation were more crusty and seemed to have either rain crust or warming weather crust. Once we got closer to 4500'+ the snow was fairly decent as far as being less firm and more powdery. Photos from approximately 4700'. There were areas where we saw cracks in the snow from wind slabs throughout the day. Also with the crusty layers we were able to see cracking snow as we rode on areas that were untracked.
