Observations

This is from Sunday, I don't see these notes in other obs. Surface hoar frost, universal as of 10:30 am. Afternoon sun eradicated it on sunny aspects. If it doesn't warm up a lot, an interesting mix will be buried in the next round. Light, fluffy snow by morning skied GREAT but turned heavier and moist by 3pm where the sun could reach it. By 3pm the NE wind had picked up and was transporting snow up on the volcano, but not affecting the lower-elevation alpine. (Wind has had its way with the snow and scoured the breakable crusts in patchy locations, as we observed on Alta on Friday afternoon. We expected that on Mazama's west aspects Sunday, but the sun might have made the difference.)
