Our party of two skinned up Quicksilver and then up to Threeway Peak. We observed a ~0.5"-1" coating of surface hoar in some areas above the top of Quicksilver.
We dug a hasty pit below Threeway before committing to skinning into steeper terrain and found 18-24" of unconsolidated powdery snow above a rock-hard (from previous rain event?) crust. There were isolated areas of wind-effected snow on the surface but nothing reactive or thick enough to prevent enjoyable skiing.
Winds were calm, and temperatures were quite chilly with moist skin or gloves adhering to metal ski edges or binding parts.
