Quick tour this morning, within the ski area boundaries.
Weather:
Cloudy. Air temperature ~20F@6300ft. Cloud bases around 6000ft. Slightly wind below/around the treeline. Very cold and strong eastly flow(~40mph) at the ridge line with whiteout conditions. Many wind-affected textures /crusts were observed above the treeline, especially on some east-facing open slopes.
Hand shear test in several locations, mainly on E/S aspects. Didn’t see any significant weak layers. 20" new soft snow well cohesived to last Friday's rain crust. The new snow layer was 10-15" around the base area, still skiable.
