Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes, Isolated
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
No

Observations

Generally 30-45 cm of base where wind sheltered, with a noticeable crust/hardness change mid pack. Ski pen ~5 cm in storm snow. Storm snow seems well bonded. Winds were strong and gusty out of the W-NW and moving a lot of snow. Drifted snow up to 1.5 meters thick, and cracking in wind drifted snow up to 10’ out, stubborn to slide where I tested. Typical early season hazards still a plenty.
