Comments:
Wet loose avalanche was skier triggered on a convex roller on the north aspect of Crystal Mountain. Took the 4-6 in. of snow the previous storm had deposited. Started narrow but was approximately 10-20 ft. wide by time it had stopped. Did not run the entire slope and was stopped by trees, approximately 200-300 ft. down from the release point.

Observed Avalanches

Did you observe any avalanches?
Yes
Avalanche Type:
Wet Loose
Size:
Size 1: Relatively harmless to people
Elevation:
6700
Aspect:
NE
Comments:
Many small wet loose (mostly collections of roller balls) that would fan out. Further run was maybe a 100 feet or so.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Overall snow conditions were very stable in the morning. Later in the day (about 1 pm) the sun had warmed up even the north aspect enough that roller balls and wet loose started to become more of a concern. Only the storm snow ever started roller balling or slid. The crust underneath was very stable and no instabilities were observed.
