Comments:
Pictures to illustrate. Looks like an upper elevation (loose?) wet slide that ran through the Hourglass triggered the D2.5 apron slab which then propogated close to the full width (incl wrap around of some rock outcrops) of that Yokum ridge adjacent mini circque (ie mainly Leuthold’s apron portion of Reid alone). Estimating that it ran on 5/10 from looks of debris and that day’s post-storm first warming weather. Approximately 500’ crown length as a result with the tallest portion of the crown measured at around 2.5’, tho most other areas of the crown shorter, tho often close to 1’. Unfortunately white out began to threaten around 2pm forcing me to retreat so I am not sure about characteristics of the upper elevation avy above Hourglass that triggered the apron slab.
Btw - first time to the area but from research and a snow observation today pretty sure the slide - which only ran a few hundred feet due to flat run out zone on the glacier - still ran far enough to overrun the Bergsrund’s location or at least a crevasse from an observation. Also noted another slab avy while exiting that I may have missed earlier or maybe ran today. Finally, note that a party of two climbed and skied/boarded an adjacent and similar aspect Reid Headwall line today without incident.
