wind effect was sufficient to obscure what snow was new snow. areas were either lees that had lots of heavy wind-consolidated snow, or if not a lee slope, wind scoured to ground -- little "in between", no "goldilocks" zone. winds were strong - +-40mph and eddying so lee could be any sheltered aspect!? wind-affected snow was quite stiff, making for challenging skiing. snow felt slabby, but we stayed away from steep aspects, and blowing snow obscured view of surrounding steeper slopes.
