Bluebird day early-mid afternoon gave way to patchy whiteout with 20mph+ WNW winds by mid-late afternoon above Palmer. With that surface conditions went from soft but somewhat dense and mini slabby (see pics) on the way up to icy, bumpy teeth-chattering thigh burners on the way down (albeit some of that could be chalked up to reduced visibility making finding more enjoyable skiable snow a challenge on descent back to Palmer. No signs of recent avalanche or unstable snow was observed. Lower elevation south-facing moraine meltout was striking.
