Observations

Open slopes above Phantom trees had 8-10" ski penetration and exhibited minimal instability, mostly loose sluff with no obvious signs of wind transport until picking up around 9am. On descent through the trees, almost every significant convexity produced soft slab avalanches on a clearly delineated bed surface. The largest was triggered almost 10ft back from the rollover at a relatively flat location and broke ~50ft wide and ran ~75ft, 8-10" crown.
