Observations

The beginning of Leuthold was the hardest part this climb. There were two distinct stuff slide paths that were essentially just flowing with snow. The snow was unconsolidated up to the hourglass, about waist deep and was very light. We chose a route that took us the left side of the couloir into the hourglass. After the hourglass, snow conditions improved from easy kick step climbing to hard snow and ice in the last 300 feet of the couloir. Descended the south side, about up to knee deep in devils kitchen area.
