Observed Avalanches

Did you observe any avalanches?
Yes
Avalanche Type:
Wet Slab
Size:
Size 3: Could bury and destroy a car, damage a truck, destroy a wood frame house, or break a few trees
Elevation:
Crown at 7,000-7450' Ran to 6200'
Aspect:
SE
Comments:
The debris appeared to be several days old. It probably ran early this week. It was on the east side of Monitor Ridge and followed the valley on the west side of the route. The pile of snow at the bottom had blocks 12' high. The crown depth was 10-15" but the area involved was so large that it picked up a lot of snow.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

This avalanche is several days old. There are no earlier reports because a landslide had blocked access to the mountain.
