Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported

Observations

Noted roughly 4-5” of dry new snow at end of road at Rock Island CG, though there was nearly none just a few miles further east. HS increased with elevation, and above 5000ft we saw 14-18” of new snow on N and E facing slopes. No signs of slab formation, and stability seemed good. Dug a pit and column at 5200ft and was able to propagate with a hand shear on the new storm interface about 40cm down, but while skiing saw nothing but harmless dry loose, and even those were very small.
