Comments:
Tumwater Canyon: between 1500 and 1520 hours, observed two avalanches strike the highway. Debris ranged from wet/loose snow to bowling-ball-scale ice chunks -- more than sufficient to damage a vehicle had one been struck. Kinda like watching a truckload of bricks & bowling balls dumped in front of my vehicle as I was approaching at 50mph. temp at my house in Leavenworth was 61'F
None reported
deposition covered 1.5 lanes, each slide - not sufficient to block traffic, but enough for a car to have to move to avoid debris. between traffic and the rate of avalanche activity, I was not about to try to stop and photograph these.
