Observations

We dug a pit on the east face of Mastiff at 6000ft on an open 29-degree slope - CTH23 sudden collapse @ 30cm we believe on a layer of <1mm faceted crystals (FC) above a thick (5cm) rain crust - but the loupe was accidentally left out of the snow kit today so we could not verify. Another CT had no results. We jumped on a few test slopes in the area and did not trigger anything. The weak layer is present but stubborn.
