Observations
We dug a pit at about 4800 ft on a north facing slope. Shovel tilt test produced a clean shear at 15cm. Noted a persistent crust at 50cm from Jan 30 and another at 60cm from Jan 20 with a weaker faceted layer in between. Compression test produced a result at the 15cm line but not at the deeper crusts. Extended compression test did not produce any results.
