Observations

We had a dig at 6350' on a north slope, finding CTs in the low teens failing on the rounding 30 Jan facets 40-45cm down. We also recorded an ECTN 16, PST80 end and PST90 on the same layer. HS was 200cm in this location. We encountered moderate to strong westerly winds on exposed ridgelines with intense transport visible on surrounding peaks and high ridgelines above roughly 7000'.

Advanced Observations

Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Persistent Slab
Comments:
Poor structure with the rounding 30 Jan facets now buried by 40-50cm of new snow. While there isn't a large slab on this layer, the widespread weak snow merited investigation.
