Observations

Appreciated some variety in snow conditions between Hyak and Silver today.

1) At < 4,000 ft on all aspects in the open was 2-3" of faceted snow appearing 0.5-1 " in length over the crust that's present on all aspects (photo 1). We did not see this at higher elevations. 2) 2-3 " wind transported snow on NNE aspect above 4,400 ft. (photo 2). 3) In the trees it is very loud.

Media

Facets below 4,000 ft in the open. We appreciated a 2-3" layer over the crust.
Soft wind-transported snow above 4,400 ft on a NNE facing aspect. Stretched on for a while.
